Danzig The 7th House
There are rock bands and then there are rock bands. It seems that in order to make a success in the world of rock’n'roll, you have to tour, meet the fans, and find time to make a record (or records) of you music. Today, having a kick-ass web site can help as well. Looking at today’s Warped site, you’ll see what I mean.
The site is called The 7th House. It is the official website of a group called Danzig. Now, I have never, ever heard of Danzig. But they were in the town where I live only a few short weeks ago. So they are on the road, doing what it takes to make it in the rock world. Their website really a great one. It reminds one of a video game with occult or horror movie-based overtones. But once you start poking around, you really catch a sense of what the group is and what their fans are all about.
There are links to their tour dates, a discography, current and past media articles, and a multimedia section that would make more established groups jealous. They make liberal use of QuickTime and Real Player to show their content, as well as lots of still photos. Of course, they have an online store where you can buy their discs, and other memorabilia. For such a web savvy group, I was surprised that they did not feature a venue to download any content, but I am sure that won’t be long in coming.
Catch this group if you can. They have been playing for over 15 years, and must present a great show, as you will be able to see from their clips. They aren’t my cup of tea, but don’t let that stop you. The Warped rating on this site is an 8.5.
