Strange Facts
A gentleman named Robert Ripley made a career of finding odd and unusual things from all around the world. I’m sure you’ve heard of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not. Yep, that’s the man. If the Internet had been around when he first started, I am sure he would have found out a lot more unusual or strange things. But since it wasn’t, and Mr. Ripley has gone to his reward, someone else will have to use the Internet for those items. Today’s site is one that has some interesting information on it.
The site is called Strange Facts. This is a site that has a wide variety of strange facts, strange laws, and strange fears. For example:
1) In Tokyo, a bicycle is faster than a car for most trips of less than 50 minutes.
2) In the White House, there are 13,092 knives, forks and spoons!
3) Ernest Vincent Wright wrote a novel, “Gadsby”, which contains over 50,000 words — none of them with the letter E!
4) In Louisiana, a bill was introduced years ago in the State House of Representatives that fixed a ceiling on haircuts for bald men of 25 cents.
5) More Monopoly money is printed in a year, than real money printed throughout the world!
These are just a few of the interesting facts that this site has. Using this site as a reference can make for interesting talk around the office water cooler. They solicit material from visitors, so if you have some to share they are willing to look at them. The Warp site rating for this site is 8.0.
