Museum of Bad Art

We all know what good art is, right? Maybe yes, maybe no? How do you tell the difference? Most of us listen to “art experts” who say what is good and what is bad. The Mona Lisa is good, right? The Last Supper is good, right? How do you tell the difference? Today’s Warped site takes a look one reference that may help you make up your own mind.

The name of the site is The Museum of Bad Art, or Art Too Bad To Be Ignored. This site is the only place in the world dedicated to the collection, preservation, exhibition and celebration of bad art of all forms. This is the online site for the museum, which is located in Dedham Community Theatre in Boston, Massachusets, just outside the men’s room in this 1927 theatre. MOBA was founded in the fall of 1993 and presented its first show in March 1994.
Their collection of art is truly amazing. I thought I had seen some bad pieces of art in the past, but the items collected here will leave you speechlss. Some of the titles alone will make you want to look at them:
“Sunday On The Pot With George”;
“Circus of Despair”;
“Red Figure With Braids”;
and (my personal unfavorite) “Lucy In The Fields With Flowers”.
The Warped site rating of this site is 9.0. It truly lives up to what we feel puts that warped feeling on the Internet. While you visit this site, don’t forget to buy the book. Sites like this need all the help they can get.
