BuzzPage

The National Enquirer is one of the most controversial paper that has ever been published, at least as long as I can remember. There are some companion publications, like the Globe, but nothing is like the original. But how has the Internet changed the type of articles that are published in that paper? Better yet, how has it impacted what kind of news you see on the net? Today we look at a site that could give them all a run for their money.

The name of the site is BuzzPage. It is a site that consists of weird news, odd news, and serious news (but not necessarily in that order). This is an interesting site, one that mixes the serious headlines of the day with some that would do justice to the supermarket checkout rags.
Today, for example, they talk about the stock market’s new closing high and the ongoing UN/North Korea situation. But they also have stories about a death-row inmate getting pregnant while in solitary, mummified remains being sold on eBay, and the ineffectiveness of tasers on runaway cows. They also cover tech news, sports, and have a wide variety of links that they are linked with.
I am continually amazed at not only the variety of stories that I find featured on the Internet, but how many sites that feature those stories. I don’t know if the world is getting crazier, or we’re just now finding out about it. Who knows. But I do know that the Warp-o-Meter gives this site an 8.5 rating.
